The purpose of the ignition coil
The additional resistor in the low-voltage circuit of the ignition
coil is used to balance the high-voltage spark. When the engine is
at low speed, the magnetic field can reach saturation. When the
engine is at high speed, because the time is shortened, the
magnetic field cannot reach saturation, the secondary voltage
generated will be insufficient, and the spark will also be
weakened. The ignition coil can be divided into open magnetic type
and closed magnetic type according to the magnetic circuit. The
traditional ignition coil is open magnetic type. Its iron core is
laminated with silicon steel sheets of about 0.3mm. The iron core
is wound with secondary and primary coils. The closed magnetic type
uses an iron core similar to III to wind the primary coil, and then
a secondary coil outside. The magnetic line of force consists of an
iron core to form a closed magnetic circuit.
